Tiermes was one of the most important points of resistance to Roman domination, along with Uxama and Numancia. It has a wealth of architectural remains, among which the stunning rock-hewn aqueduct, with a 150 m long subterranean passage, stands out.

The Tiermes Archaeological Site has interesting rock terracing that could be a theatre, a Celtiberian temple or a meeting place. Nearby the Archaeological Site, in the Carratiermes area, there is a cremation necropolis.

Nearby Montejo de Tiermes, a Roman fountain still survives.

In Burgo de Osma the cathedral and the Uxama Archaeological Site are to be seen. The River Lobos Canyon, is 18 km away. Laguna Negra (Black Lagoon) must be seen if you come to Soria, and you should also not miss the towns of Calatañazor, Soria, Numancia and Berlanga de Duro. There is also the Caliphal Fortress of Gormaz (the largest castle in Western Europe), from where you can watch the region's most beautiful sunsets.

Visits can be made to the Tiermes archaeological site, to Buitreras and to the ancient Holm-oak wood. There are also a number of routes that can be taken on foot or by bike.

Tiermes paths route. The Tiermes Paths, prepared by Montejo de Tiermes Council, are found 100 km from Madrid, to the south of the province of Soria, in a completely rural area. Along these paths there is an abundance of Roman ruins to be discovered, particularly in the area of Tiermes.
